Recently I was washing dishes and I found a sewing needle in the sink. I thought hmmm, I bet there's gonna be more to this later. You can bet God wants to use the small coincidences in your life for His glory. Sure enough, I went onto the Quickened Word forum a few hours later, and there was an entry called, "Eye of a Needle". That caught my attention...
So, this entry related to riches and how they prevent us from entering the Kingdom of Heaven. The woman who wrote the entry also spoke about how we need to enter His presence on our knees, carrying no distractions with us. We need to enter His Kingdom with humility and an active willingness to leave everything behind. That's the only way we allow ourselves to enter. If God sees our spirit undistracted and yielded to His, He will allow us access to the Kingdom. What does it cost? A broken and humble heart. What does it cost? A willingness to abandon the ways of the world, and the possessions it offers. Let's possess our inheritance in the Kingdom, instead.
The Lord gave me a vision that helped me understand entering into His presence. We need to focus on Him, because only He can push us through. We cannot break into the Kingdom on our own initiative, but only as the Holy Spirit paves the way. We need to put distractions away, and then He will allow us to enter in. For the rich young ruler, this meant He had to actively separate from His worldly riches. Even innocent things can make us too inhibited to enter those narrow gates. Only a few find that these sacrifices are worth it.
Confirmed: I randomly turned on the radio that same day, and immediately upon switching stations hear about a tattoo parlor called, "Pins and Needles". There was also something discussed about sewing...I think somebody was discussing sewing classes.
